How is Work Getting Done in your Organization?

The lines between work and play, home and office are continuing to blur as technologies make it easier for employees to be productive from virtually anywhere and at any time. As a result, where employees work is fast becoming a dominant topic of conversation for many business executives.  In fact, several large companies have recently [...]

Welcome Azaleos to Avanade

Some of you may have seen our news that we have completed our acquisition of Azaleos. Over the past eight years, Azaleos has built a reputation for offering private managed cloud services using advanced technology to remotely monitor and proactively manage email, collaboration, and unified communications systems … at very high service levels that large [...]

Windows 8 Means Big Opportunities for the Long Term

When Steve Ballmer took the stage in March 2010 at University of Washington to make a very public commitment that Microsoft was “all in” when it comes to cloud computing, he marshaled 70% of his global workforce behind this commitment.   Around the same time, Microsoft made a similarly huge bet on mobility – overhauling [...]

Innovation Enabling Business Change

September not only marks the beginning of changing seasons, but it also is the start to Avanade’s fiscal year.  At 13, Avanade is now a teenager – and as those of you with teenage children can attest, it promises to be a fun, potentially volatile, rewarding and challenging experience all at once!   In FY12, [...]

Like the word “innovation,” agility is too often used as a buzzword, so what is agility and why is it important?   The Oxford English Dictionary [...]

More on CIOs Leading Innovation Agendas

On Jan. 9 , I discussed the importance of CIOs driving innovation by aligning technology to business goals. Avanade’s own CIO, Chris Miller, is a good example of what I mean.   As a business technology consultancy, Avanade‘s employees expect a lot from their technology – the software, hardware and services – to enable them [...]

Beyond the jargon, innovation is transforming business

Innovation seems to be the buzzword of the moment. Not just because the stores are full of the most innovative, must-have gadgets for every occasion (check out the latest news coming out of Consumer Electronics Show 2012 for the lastest gadgets) but because business leaders are recognizing it as key to differentiating themselves and driving [...]

Business as usual or something new?

You probably noticed that Nokia launched some really cool Windows Phone mobile devices like the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 in October during Nokia World. I got a hold of the Lumia 800 in the UK. This is an impressive device and I’ve been really satisfied. I think Nokia could have a winner here. Last [...]
