With years of experience and solid customer references, Avanade Connected Architectures® for .NET (ACA®.NET) version 4.0 is a proven asset that accelerates enterprise application development on the .NET platform.

How does ACA.NET work?
ACA.NET is a framework that describes how to successfully build .NET applications. It compliments and extends the Microsoft .NET Framework with common architecture services that accelerate the development process. It is also a set of reusable architecture components that provide valuable services and assistance to developers who are building .NET applications. ACA.NET comes with training, robust tool support, sample applications, and documentation built right into Visual Studio.NET.

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
The SOA functionality of ACA.NET enables customers to quickly realize the benefits of service-enabled applications. With an array of SOA transports available to developers (such as In-process, ASMX, WSE2, and .NET Remoting), the inherent flexibility of ACA.NET makes it suitable for developing all types of .NET applications. Looking ahead to future transport technology, enterprise applications built on the SOA technology of ACA.NET are also well positioned to adopt the Microsoft Indigo communications infrastructure.

Microsoft Alignment
The Microsoft patterns & practices Enterprise Library is a collection of application blocks designed to assist developers with common enterprise development challenges. Avanade collaborated with Microsoft to develop the vision for Enterprise Library and assisted with architecture, design and development by leveraging experiences from our implementations and past deployments of ACA.NET. To accelerate development of Enterprise Library, Microsoft licensed portions of ACA.NET.
ACA.NET 4.0 now includes Enterprise Library as its new core for lower level application blocks. With the ACA.NET SOA and AOA frameworks sitting above the core, ACA.NET has also added updated the core with a new Validation application block as well as extended the Security application block to support WSE2.

Fidelity Information Services (FIS) improved its Borland Delphi–based loan origination platform when it partnered with Avanade to redevelop the system using the Microsoft® .NET Framework. Developers can easily integrate new services and features into the product to meet changing customer needs. The new application works with mainframe and IBM AS/400 systems, opening a new market for FIS: the top 25 mortgage lenders and banks in the world. Read the complete case study.
