Cloud adoption benefits and problems for the enterprise
As is true with many forms of technology innovation, consumer technology has a way of secretly creeping into the enterprise and leaving IT in the dark. Today, public cloud services are no different. The barrier to entry for many cloud capabilities continues to lower and our research shows some are so easy to use, they are outpacing IT’s ability to manage and control them, said Jeyan Jeevaratnam, Country Manager, Avanade Australia.

Australian Enterprises Increasingly Bypassed On Cloud Adoption
It is clear that companies are not taking an all-or-nothing approach when it comes to cloud adoption. The involvement of the C-suite in technology decision-making means a more business-driven approach to IT. 1 in 4 Using Cloud Without IT Department's Knowledge
Applications on tap such as customer service relationship (CRM) software, Salesforce.com, or the Google Apps online document suite, allow users to run full-fledged software from within their browsers, without getting bogged down by setting it up or managing infrastructure.
Of course, this is convenient for users, but companies run the risk of security breaches when such initiatives are run on public clouds outside of the IT department's gaze, said Craig Dower, President, Avanade Asia Pacific.

The first striking characteristic of all the participants was the diversity of stories and the potential that was brought into one place. Avanade recognised by AMR Research for Professional Services and Distribution
AMR Research
(US English)
Avanade recently earned the AMR industry certification for both 'Professional Services' and 'Distribution'. This valued certification recognises Avanade's in-depth industry expertise and high level of customer satisfaction. AMR Research's industry certification is part of Microsoft's new partner certification program.
Microsoft has redefined and reshaped its existing partner certification. In this context, Microsoft has added the possibility for its Dynamics AX partners to certify for specific industries. The purpose of this certification is to enable end customers to more easily and more objectively identify Microsoft partners with recognised industry-specific skills and expertise. This new level of transparency will assure customers that they receive a higher level of industry competence
Microsoft's partner certification program still includes requirements in regards to sales volume, number of Microsoft certified professionals, quality of implementation skills and so on. The industry certification by AMR Research is just an additional tool for end customers to better select their Dynamics AX partner of choice.
AMR's industry certification program is based on objective research executed on active industry customers of the respective partner that wants to certify. Results are based on expertise and delivery of functionality specific to a given industry, and on the level of satisfaction and willingness to recommend their Microsoft partner.
AMR Research is now part of Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT), the leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry.
