Microsoft recognizes Avanade as 2010 Information Worker Solutions, Communications and Collaboration Solution Partner of the Year

​SEATTLE – July 13, 2010 – Avanade, a business technology services provider, has been recognized by
Microsoft as the 2010 Information Worker Solutions, Communications and Collaboration Solution Partner of
the Year for the results Avanade delivered to its customer, the Telenor Group.

The Telenor Group is a global telecommunications market leader headquartered in Norway. The company
has expanded into 13 countries and has more than 40,000 employees. The Way of Work (WoW) initiative is
the reflection of a vision within Telenor that recognizes that connected people work smarter.

To connect Telenor’s geographically dispersed employees, Avanade worked in close cooperation with the
company to create a portal virtual workspace using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Office Communication
Server, and MS Outlook. The global collaborative infrastructure standard ensures employees across the
company have access to companywide portals and dynamic virtual workplaces, which enable them to
collaborate and share files and information. For example, users are now able to merge local and global news
in multiple languages.

WoW is delivering measurable improvements based on the success criteria established by Telenor. This
criterion included faster response times to new opportunities and customer issues, decreased cost and travel
expenses, and a program that measures the reduced carbon footprint of the company and its employees.

The Partner of the Year Award reflects Avanade’s continued commitment to extend the Microsoft platform and
help global companies realize business results. Microsoft selected Avanade to receive this honor from more
than 3,000 partner entries. Winners and finalists demonstrated significant customer impact, solution
innovation, speed to market, deployment, and utilization of advanced features in Microsoft technologies over
the past year.
