Business Situation

First National Bank of Arizona has been growing as a company exponentially over the past few years. Their Microsoft Exchange 5.5 environment was approaching the limits of the current server hardware. Also, the bank decided to pursue a paperless faxing system utilizing the RightFax product. This solution allows for the delivery of faxes directly into users’ mailboxes and requires tight integration with Exchange. In order implement RightFax and provide a stable messaging platform that will scale as the bank continues to grow, they decided to migrate to a new Exchange 2000 infrastructure.

 

Solution

Avanade facilitated the complete Exchange migration for 5.5 to 2000 on back-end infrastructure with very little business impact to the end-user community. The Exchange servers were scaled to support heavy usage resulting from the implementation of RightFax and the bank’s paperless mortgage business. The Active Directory infrastructure was streamlined to better support their overall environment and the Exchange 2000 implementation. A new test lab environment was also established. Lastly, secure Outlook Web Access was implemented allowing for anytime, anywhere access to email.
