Why Avanade?
There’re endless opportunities here and I feel like that’s very unique. Anyone can go anywhere from the beginning and we’ve got to start somewhere.

From the reviews of the company I read online, I found that Avanade stood out from its competitors.

Avanade offers its employees exposure to a lot of technology. It's touted for its dynamic culture—which includes a work environment full of friendly and helpful people. And the last piece that really stood out for me was the opportunity to travel—trying out the life of a consultant while I'm young and eager to learn. It became something I definitely wanted to try out.

The interview process
The recruitment process was really professional. They contacted me within two weeks of my application submission. Then I had two phone interviews. One phone interview was with a director, and then one was with a senior director—both were considered technical interviews. Then I came into the office for an in-person interview with another senior director.

Overall, I felt that the recruiting experience was fast, professional and went really well—obviously, it worked out for both parties, and so far, so good.

My role
I'll be meeting with customers to gather their business requirements. Then I'll work closely with the Avanade team to translate those business requirements into what is possible with technology, and ultimately work with the team to give the customer a solution.

I'm really excited to be that point person between the business and the technical teams that helps development understand the customer’s requirements and deliver an optimal solution. Beyond assisting the team in the design of the solution, I will also work closely with the development team throughout the entire implementation.

Life outside work
I always make time to do the things I enjoy—that includes working out, jogging, enjoying the outdoors—on foot but more so on my motorcycle. I am a big motorcycle and car guy. I like the night-life too and having fun with new people.

The future
What I like about the Ignition programme and Avanade's overall investment in training so far, is the availability of the right tools and resources—immediately. It's really encouraging to see Avanade invest time and money into their new employees to help them gain the knowledge and skills they will need to succeed.
