What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working with a leading international law firm. As well as being a fascinating project to work on, it is also a very significant bit of business for Avanade as it’s our first Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP implementation within the legal industry. 
 
What has been your favorite project at Avanade?
To be honest, I’ve enjoyed all the projects at Avanade. As with any project there have been good bits and bad bits, but generally they’ve all been satisfying. For project niceness and location I would say Cable & Wireless in the Channel Islands—a far cry from the hustle and bustle of London.

What is it like to work at Avanade?
To be honest, it was only when I left Avanade that I really appreciated what it is like to work here. I’ve developed a newfound appreciation for Avanade. For me it’s about the people—the passion and energy. I think the size and structure of Avanade also matters. With Accenture and Microsoft behind you, we’re in a large and stable family but we’re also small enough that our efforts can still make a real, noticeable difference.

What makes the “people” different here at Avanade than previous teams you may have been on?
I have found that the people at Avanade really do live the values of the company. From senior management down, people are professional, friendly and very respectful of each other.

How are the opportunities for career progression and advancement?
Everyone has a defined career path at Avanade and we are given the right level of support for that journey.

How does Avanade recognize you for your contributions?
I think Avanade focuses very strongly on recognizing people for their efforts through formal and informal means. You are much more likely to hear the guys “on the shop floor” being praised for their work than the senior management team receiving all of the kudos at Avanade.

How do you balance work and your outside interests?
In our industry, it can be difficult to balance working and personal life. I strive to do that and feel that Avanade wants me to get that balance right too. Spending quality time with my family is the key to my happiness, and I get to see my four kids, and the dog, as much as I can. I’m a keen runner and lover of the outdoors too and love to get away with the family in the campervan on weekends—the dog sleeps outside.
