Business Situation
  • ATSIS needed to replace its legacy Informix database servers with a more flexible Microsoft SQL 2000 environment.
  • In addition, the legacy NT4 server environment needed upgrading to allow the introduction of more efficient server systems.
  • Legacy systems included Citrix Meta frame 1.8, Exchange 5.5, MS-Proxy and Unix databases.

 

Solution
  •  In addition to providing a Microsoft SQL environment, Avanade will be designing, developing and implementing a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory to facilitate the implementation of latest generation server systems.
  • The deployment, development and design included the following products: Microsoft Exchange Server 2003; Microsoft Office 11 (2003); Microsoft SQL Server 2000; Microsoft ISA Server; Citrix MetaFrame; Microsoft Virtual Server.

 

Results
  • ATSIS will be ready to deploy a more efficient and effective Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment to all its users throughout Australia.
  • This will increase reliability and efficiency reduce administrative overheads and create a more flexible platform for the deployment of new applications.
