Caja Duero wanted to improve the reliability and scalability of their IT infrastructure in order to better support their business. By migrating to Windows 2000 they were also targeting to reduce total cost-of-ownership and improve internal customer service. The Bank was also looking to improve workflow and communications across their business entities and between their head office and their branch network. They therefore also wanted to build a corporate intranet using Share Point Portal Server.
A Microsoft-based solution was a natural fit for the existing Caja Duero company infrastructure and its people. Speed of implementation was critical to Caja Duero. By teaming with Avanade, the customer quickly implemented its plans and reaped the benefits. Avanade designed a Win 2K and Exchange 2K migration plan taking into account the largely distributed customer environment. Simultaneously, Avanade developed an intranet solution based on SPS with OWA implementation for remote offices.
