Business Situation
Central has a been collecting huge amount of data through the different transactions systems located at the various head-offices and stores around Thailand. With current management direction which emphasizes on monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI), there is a challenge for users to access and perform analysis on the corporate data. Thus, Central requires an end-to-end solution which empowers employees to have access to the data and at the same time be able to perform ad-hoc analysis, reporting and KPI monitoring.

 

Solution
Avanade conceptualized, designed and built a datamart solution on MS SQL Server 2000 and ProClarity Web Analytics. Data extracted from ERP and excel spreadsheets was consolidated, transformed and loaded into the data mart. Business subject-area OLAP cubes are built to provide users with the multi-dimensional analysis capability; providing users information at their fingertips. Security requirements based on the different business groups and level was set.

 

Results
This powerful and user-friendly analytical system enables users to easily do analysis over the web without needing to go through the traditional report request-and-wait cycle. This provides users with “information at the fingertips” and will assist users in making strategic business decisions.
