The client's previous technical platform was not designed to easily include new partners in the B2B process. They needed a robust architecture that would allow them to quickly extend their services to support a large number of industries and companies.

Solution

Avanade utilized Microsoft Commerce Server 2000, Microsoft BizTalk Server and Microsoft SQL Server to develop Estrutura's new portal (front-end application and infrastructure). The new web site included the following functionality: catalog browsing and searching, industry-specific pricing schemas, customized purchasing processes, and client history tracking. The solution included the automatic integration with industries through a file-based interfacing mechanism using BizTalk Server, that provided automatic data updates to catalog, order and client data.

Results

The company will have a platform to support a fast and easy integration with additional partners, while providing customized catalog, pricing and purchasing mechanisms. The architecture will be easily extended to support new services, such as analysis reporting, client profiling, and content customization.
