Business SituationThis project is the third phase in a row of projects Hannover Re has initiated in order to establish an identity & integration management system for all users and departments. The intent of this project was to decrease the amount of manual effort and working time in the area of account and printer management, as well as implement an effective single point of administration portal.
SolutionAvanade evaluated Hannover Re’s existing process and identified the benefits of designing a identity management infrastructure. The end solution entailed integrating the following systems for password management, intranet phonebook, and unified directory: Alcatel, USU Valuewise, HP Servicedesk and Windows/Active Directory.
During the second phase Avanade successfully updated the existing “Intranet Search”, connected to HP/UX (User accounts) and supports the three different test environments with “productive” data.
ResultsIncreased productivity and lowered administrative costs through the use of an identity management system.
