Business Situation
The Greater Brisbane Region (GBR) of the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) determined that an initiative was necessary to enhance the communications and availability of information to staff in the region. Avanade was approached to develop an operational intranet that would function as a business critical application, available 24/7, to make accessible basic communication and documentation to all officers as well as facilitating access to roster information, discussion and support groups and order supplies.
Solution
Avanade developed an intranet based solution to enhance collaboration and communication between staff. The QAS Intranet system - BRISnet - resolved the practical difficulties of keeping in touch with a 24/7, three shifts per day workforce.
