​Business Situation
Solviteers had an outdated infrastructure, which was expensive to support.  They wanted to save costs, but also enable better stability and operation.  Although Solviteers develops their own products on the Microsoft platform - their current infrastructure and applications are Microsoft platform based - the customer is a developer organisation and does not have the capability to architecture, design and deploy a new infrastructure on its own.

Solution
Solviteers worked with Avanade’s team of 4 consultants in the design and deployment of the solution.  Avanade took the lead role for this project and we supplied the lead in architecture, design, build and deployment of the new infrastructure. 

The solution consists of a brand new infrastructure based on several ESX machines with more than 40 virtual servers. The infrastructure encompassed the Next Generation Data Centre concept, in collaboration with MOSS, Exchange messaging and OCS. Data on several services and servers (Software Build Servers) where migrated towards this new environment. 

Results
The whole approach of the design, the fast and constructive delivery of this project, was realized in just 4 months! The result was a cost effective infrastructure, from 40 physical servers to 4 physical servers.
