Business Situation
Rayloc was working with a legacy ERP system that provided limited capabilities. It was time to upgrade. The company wanted to replace its antiquated system with a cohesive one that would provide more accurate and timely information about its manufacturing and order processes. Among other things, Rayloc wanted a system that enabled it to add new suppliers easily, better manage production costs, strengthen procurement, and improve quality control.
Solution
In order to give Rayloc a full end-to-end ERP system, Avanade set out to:
- Deploy a full installation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0, including finance, manufacturing, distribution and logistics modules.
- Implement third-party modules, such as eBECS Lean Manufacturing and Manhattan Associates Supply Chain Execution, that integrate with AX.
- Configure AX to support an Enterprise Shared Services model, which allows Rayloc’s multiple plants to share administrative services with a central customer service and accounting office.
- Integrate AX with the company’s proprietary NAPA .net e-commerce solution.
Results
Rayloc will have an integrated end-to-end ERP solution that gives it a lot more control over its sales, procurement and manufacturing processes. The new system will allow Rayloc to:
- Eliminate waste caused by multiple systems requiring redundant data entry.
- Base manufacturing runs and procurement against sales orders.
- Track orders in real time and provide customers with timely information.
- Improve plant efficiencies with a consistent Bill of Materials.
- Reduce defective parts through a global view of quality control.
