Business Situation

​All document production in Aker ASA was stored on file servers and private mailboxes. This meant that is was difficult to find relevant information, difficult for other people in the organization to take over work owned/created by others, difficulty in tracking mail containing important correspondence about decisions, clarifications and other relevant information. Aker needed a more structured approach around producing, storing and finding information and documents.

Solution

​Avanade helped Aker ASA realize a brand new intranet and collaboration platform, based on Microsoft SharePoint® 2010.  This would enable a portal for internal company news, personnel and IT information, MySites™ for individuals, and team sites for departments and project teams. Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM was added to the solution to provide a contact and customer base, and for tracking communication to cases and projects.

Results

​With the assistance of Avanade's project team, Aker ASA have a much improved capability to serve the needs for distributing internal communications and to improve the efficiency in how their employees collaborate, share and find information.
