Business Situation Dobotex lacked an efficient way of providing information to people in its organization and, in particular, to its sales force.
- The process of getting the information is labour intensive and prone to errors
- Only a few people had access to critical data, further compounded by the fact that internal processes for accessing this information were labor intensive and error prone
- Because several copies are created of this data, there was no single version of the 'truth'
- The source system also suffered performance penalties each time
- Excel spreadsheets were created to export data.
Solution
Avanade delivered a Business Intelligence solution for Dobotex, based on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and utilizing features such as Reporting Services, which included:
- Defining a high level architecture of the Dobotex Global Information System
- Reviewing the current infrastructure & making recommendations for improvements
- Implementation of ETL, cubes and reports
- Implementation of Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 (included development and support)
As part of the solution, Accenture helped Dobotex with a strategy workshop aimed at defining the company’s goals, vision and KPIs that will form the foundation for the type of business intelligence generated with the Avanade solution.
