BI solution improves decision making & reduces time spent on reporting

Business Situation

​KOBELCO was using SAP R/3 as its ERP system. However, it was clear that data was accumulating in the system. It was decided to create a BI system to extract and reference R/3 data.

Solution

​Working with the customer, Avanade implemented an Inventory Management Analysis Dashboard  and An Earnings Analysis Dashboard . The dashboards were created as an Microsoft Excel® service using an Enterprise CAL of Microsoft SharePoint® 2007.

Results

​The new solution has improved Kobelco’s usability by providing a mechanism for data input, and correcting, using Excel. In addition, automated data extraction means that Kobelco has reduced the number of man-hours spent on reporting by 2-3 man-days per month.
