Business Situation
Montague’s existing crop forecasting process was labour intensive and did not provide the company (and growers) with the necessary information to accurately negotiate at the start of the season supply contracts. Recognizing this, Montague engaged Avanade to develop a crop forecasting solution to save time and lift accuracy of crop information, as well as provide individual growers with a management tool to help them optimize their crop output to meet local and international demand

Solution
Avanade developed a .NET web-based crop forecasting system to map national production. Through .NET, Avanade was able to develop a cost effective solution at speed, to fit in with Montague's tight time frames. It also provided the necessary scalability to enable the system to grow with the company – addressing its current business requirements (ie mapping national production), with the ability to scale to deliver future requirements such as management tool functionality. The solution uses .Net technology and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database management system
