​Many hospitals adopt the same philosophy for their ICT systems: they seek out and implement the most suitable application for each individual process or problem. Westfriesgasthuis hospital decided on a change of direction and started looking for a simpler, cheaper, and more efficient system.

​When choosing the system, Westfriesgasthuis hospital focused primarily on the effort needed to achieve the required functionality and on the level of management effort required to maintain the application. Following an intensive selection process, the ERP solution AX4Health, constructed in Microsoft Dynamics AX, was selected. The great thing about AX4Health is that by being smart about the way you set up and configure the solution, you can tailor it almost entirely to your own processes and methods. 

​The fact that the processes are now better organized  is a major benefit for the Westfriesgasthuis hospital. All processes in the AX environment are integrated, so there is a direct link between the purchasing process and the administrative process, in other words between the purchasing and administrative departments. As a result, employees now work together more often, and are able to co-ordinate their processes more effectively, improving efficiency in the hospital.
