Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL) is a leading player in the Brazilian energy distribution market. Seeking to increase its productivity and reduce costs, CPFL chose to undergo a pilot project to test an automation solution that could help it reach these goals. Avanade and Accenture were chosen to automate eight processes that encompassed different areas of the business. Because of our experience working on automation projects for other clients, our team was familiar with the tools chosen by CPFL.
In order to create a value vision and implement a culture of automation within the company, Avanade’s pilot project has specifically targeted CPFL’s financial, commercial and distributed generation departments. The project also encompasses the partner companies responsible for the back office operation of these departments.
Our team conducted workshops with key stakeholders to help CPFL define the priority processes for automation. These processes included terminating payment tickets, creating orders, refurbishing microgenerators, refilling white tariffs, closing invoices and updating registers.
This initiative has been a success – and going forward, CPFL will create a governance for automation to bring continuity to the initiated processes.
