We are seeking a cloud security support engineer with a background in Azure Platform support.
The role requires professional experience within security engineering and a strong background in certification, accreditation, and the support of robust security frameworks within complex ICT environments.
Core to the role
You will be knowledgeable in Australian Government information assurance requirements, including the Information Security Manual (ISM), NIST CSF2.0 and Essential 8 ML2.
We also need you to have experience across a variety of technologies that may include:
Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Sentinel.
Microsoft Defender suite, Azure Security Center, and Sentinel SIEM), Cloud security & data logging (Azure), Incident response, Cryptography, Network and System security.
Experience with Security Copilot (highly regarded)
Hands-on experience with Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Log Management/Analysis.
Hands-on experience managing security infrastructure (firewalls, IPSs, WAFs, endpoint protection, SIEM, log management, Zscaler, Proofpoint).
Proven experience in reviewing security vulnerabilities.
Proficiency with vulnerability management toolsets.
Understanding of IT service management (ITIL disciplines: change, configuration, asset, incident, problem management).
Experience and understanding of how applications, services and infrastructure are deployed into public cloud services (Microsoft Azure).
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills to clearly explain security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Have familiarity with current cybersecurity trends such as Zero Trust, Extended Detection and Response (XDR), or AI-driven security analytics. And will have experience being responsible for incident response coordination, investigation, and remediation, as well as staying current with threat intelligence to proactively defend against emerging threats.

Role Overview
As a Copilot & Automation Adoption Analyst, you will support the design and execution of AI adoption, change management, and process transformation initiatives, helping clients integrate Copilot and automation solutions into their daily operations.
You will work closely with both business and technical teams, contributing not only to adoption activities but also to process analysis, automation opportunities, and delivery operations improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of Copilot adoption and change management initiatives, including communication strategies, adoption campaigns, workshops, and stakeholder engagement, while tracking adoption KPIs and metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver client-ready materials and support project execution, contributing to reporting, knowledge sharing, and continuous capability building.
- Identify and implement automation and AI-driven solutions (Power Automate, RPA, intelligent workflows) to improve operational efficiency and enhance business processes.

This is a client-facing role combining deep technical expertise with strong consulting and communication skills, aligned with Avanade’s Security and Infrastructure practice and Microsoft Zero Trust principles.

Advise and support customers on Microsoft Entra ID capabilities, helping them modernize identity and access management.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot authentication and authorization models, including cloud and hybrid identity scenarios.
Lead and contribute to structured engagements such as assessments, workshops, and onboarding accelerators focused on Entra ID.
Implement and optimize Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and risk-based policies.
Support identity lifecycle management (Joiner / Mover / Leaver) and governance processes.
Configure and manage Entra ID Governance, including: Access Reviews, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Periodic and self-service access reviews, Support application integrations using modern authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect).
Enable and troubleshoot hybrid identity scenarios using Entra ID Connect and Entra Cloud Sync.
Assist customers with compliance, auditing, and reporting related to identity and access.
Collaborate with internal Avanade teams and Microsoft stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What you’ll do:
- Delivering M365 L1/L2 support for our customers.
- Take ownership of tickets, delivering support to SLA’s.
