So when Unilever asked Microsoft to recommend a partner to help them centralise their European IT services as part of their Solar initiative, we were proud to be the first name on the list.
Solar had four main aims: improve efficiency, reduce costs, move towards a private cloud platform and help Unilever reduce its environmental impact by supporting its Green IT initiatives and Sustainability Living Plan.
Our experience in these areas meant we could start rolling out processes and technology to centralise their IT services almost immediately, including a full suite of Microsoft technologies and our unique Next Generation Datacenter. Our Migration Factory then managed the first stage of the server migration so smoothly that after six months Unilever could continue the process in-house.
By working in close partnership with both the Microsoft and Unilever teams, we delivered on all Solar’s aims. In fact the project was such a success that Solar was subsequently announced as the winner of the IT Sustainability Award at the Unilever IT Awards.
