VELUX Group brightens up customer experience with Sitecore

Business Situation

VELUX Group is a Danish company that specializes in roof windows and skylights, with approximately 10,000 employees in more than 40 countries. While building its online presence around the globe, the company had amassed a jumble of visual styles, platforms and applications. As such, the company wanted to streamline the management of its 50+ international websites as well as improve user experience for nearly 15 million annual visitors.

Avanade joined forces with a design agency to develop and realise a new visual identity for VELUX Group that would scale to all its sites using the Sitecore Experience Platform. Hosted on Microsoft Azure, the Sitecore digital marketing solution arms over 220 marketing and communications users with tools to quickly and easily update the site, improving the user experience for 15 million visitors per year.


VELUX Group’s customers are receiving a fresh, improved experience, while sales and marketing are empowered with powerful tools. Today, for example, sales can swiftly update and generate new local content, and marketing can leverage pre-created templates so they do not need to start from scratch when creating new pages.

The Sitecore solution is already helping VELUX Group improve the digital customer experience, create a more digital workplace and deliver a digital business. It is also helping VELUX lay the groundwork for a more advanced digital marketing strategy that includes ecommerce platform integration and a new Corporate Social Responsibility site.
