What you’ll do
• Build and automate features and services that model complex business problems and support enterprise-scale systems
• Design and implement APIs and microservices, integrating with external systems and managing end-to-end development—from database design and data access to ORM frameworks
• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure
• Apply modern engineering and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and automated testing
• Collaborate with global and offshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with client requirements
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, translating business needs into technical solutions
• Contribute to solution architecture and design, ensuring alignment with best practices and business goals
• Maintain accountability for the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of deliverables, while meeting chargeability and training targets
Skills and experiences
• 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a technology or consulting environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Technical Expertise (Intermediate to Advanced):
• Programming: C#/.NET or Java
• Service Development: RESTful APIs, Microservices, ASP.NET Core, Azure API Management, Azure API Apps
• Cloud (Azure): Compute, Storage, and PaaS services (App Services, Web Apps, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Cognitive Services)
• Data & ORM: SQL Server, Azure SQL, Entity Framework or Hibernate
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, AKS
• DevOps: Git, Azure DevOps, Maven, Jenkins
• RPA (nice to have): Blue Prism, UiPath, Automation Anywhere
Core Capabilities:
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), quality assurance, and project management principles
• Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset

[MULTIPLE POSITIONS] Avanade Inc. seeks Senior Consultants, Technical Advisory in Houston, TX to play an integral part in defining how Avanade views and perceives the marketplace in categories for which we offer Advisory services to our clients. In this role, you will: operate within teams to assess the client Infrastructure environment (current issues, standards, technology, tooling, processes, capabilities, operating model and ongoing transformation); support teams to create the future state IT infrastructure strategy that addresses all stakeholder agreed issues and change requirements, taking into account business strategy, guiding principles and ongoing transformation projects; design customer flows/customer journey analysis; apply knowledge of business models, business and consumer technologies for implementation plans/IT improvement approaches and research methods; support vendor selection and procurement engagements by providing a mix of technical and analytical expertise to build requirements; coordinate with work efforts on a variety of projects, which includes information gathering used to evaluate client business environments and economic factors; and provide pre-sales support which consists of understanding client requirements, building proposals, building statements of work, and creating effort and resourcing plans. Periodic travel to client sites (domestic) is expected up to 80% of the time. Must live w/in reasonable commuting distance of Houston, TX.
Compensation at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Avanade provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below. The offered salary range for this specific position in TX is $129,917 to $130,000 per year. Any multi-state or general compensation ranges displayed below do not apply to this position.

What you'll do:
1. Technical Architecture & Solution Leadership
Lead architecture and design of Copilot, Power Platform, Azure, and AI-driven solutions
Define scalable, secure, and compliant architectures aligned with enterprise governance
Evaluate and recommend best-fit technologies for prioritized use cases
Drive POCs, solution ideation, and architecture evolution to accelerate delivery
2. Productivity Studio Delivery Leadership
Own and manage end-to-end delivery lifecycle for Productivity Studio initiatives
Define and execute delivery plans, including risk, issue, and dependency management
Partner with Delivery Lead (you) to ensure alignment across timeline, scope, and financials
Ensure adherence to Agile delivery practices and SDLC standards
3. AI & Agentic Solution Enablement
Contribute to the evolution of agent-first delivery models and frameworks as part of Productivity Studio’s frontier capabilities
Ensure solutions leverage enterprise intelligence, governance, and reusable accelerators
4. Value Engineering & Business Outcome Focus
Translate business requirements into high-value use cases and measurable outcomes
Support definition of business value, ROI, and success metrics for each engagement

5. Stakeholder & Client Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor to Microsoft and Avanade stakeholders
Support pre-sales, deal shaping, and solutioning activities (as evidenced in prior architecture roles)

6. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to delivery teams
