Reflections from my first few months with Avanade Ireland

It’s been a whirlwind couple of months since I joined Avanade Ireland as Country Manager and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome. In just three years, since its inception, the business has gone from strength to strength, and the sense of pride that exudes itself across every inch of the business is incredibly inspiring and encouraging.

I’m extremely proud to call this vibrant company my home and the team, my family. I can honestly say I’ve never worked anywhere where there is such a team spirit. The pride in the Avanade brand, the commitment to working together and supporting each other to build the business and grow the team is phenomenal.

The team has succeeded in not only building an incredibly successful business In Ireland, but a diverse team and most importantly, a company culture, that I believe is the real foundation of Avanade Ireland’s success.

This is a company where you can truly be your authentic self. We’ve attracted and retained some of the best talent in the industry in Ireland, but egos are firmly left at the door. It’s got to be one of the most supportive environments you could hope to work in.

We’ve got big ambitions to build on these solid foundations and grow the business and our headcount this year, but I’m absolutely committed to ensuring that our company culture and ethos remains the same – no matter the size of the business.

There are certainly plenty of opportunities to grow the business – capitalising on the Accenture, Microsoft and Avanade relationship. We see more opportunities in relation to digitisation, hybrid working, modern workplace, as well as the existing challenges around moving to the cloud, regulation, cyber security and the customer/employer experience.

Every employer has a responsibility to create an environment where people want to work and feel safe to work. Here at Avanade Ireland, we recognise that there needs to be choice as to where employees work, when they work and how they work. It’s a big challenge for every business, but one that, through technology enablement, it’s possible to get right – to the benefit of the employees, the clients and customers, and the business.

On that note, I would just like to add that I am looking forward to engaging with the team and our clients in the new year and would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2022. And, if you have a passion for Microsoft technologies and would like to be part of this vibrant team and growing business, then please get in touch. I’d welcome an opportunity to talk to you.
