Scaling new heights in Japan with integration to CVL’s global network using Microsoft Dynamics AX


The new solution was implemented in a month and enabled CVL Japan to not only collaborate better with the headquarters in Switzerland but to also scale new heights locally. With the enhanced collaboration made possible with the solution, CVL has a holistic overview of its supply chain and is able to access data from different offices in real time, from order receipts from customers, to order placements made with the Swiss headquarters, to goods receipt, and to product allocations.

Business Situation

Headquartered in Switzerland, CVL manufactures and sells cosmetic products such as anti-aging and skin care products which are globally distributed by Valmont. However, CVL was battling challenges related to supply management, and consolidation of data and information in real time across its offices in different regions. In Japan,  the adopted operational systems were local solutions that had compatibility issues with the platform used in Switzerland, which led to misinformation and slow operations between offices.


To address these challenges, CVL engaged Avanade to implement the Dynamics AX 2009 solution in its Japanese office. The Dynamics AX 2009 solution addressed operational issues such as general accounting, inventory management, procurement, sales and inter-company transactions. With Avanade, CVL was able to ensure that operations were not impacted during the transition as existing operational functions on the previous Japanese systems were successfully incorporated into the new Dynamics AX solution.
