Business Situation

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) provides survival and recovery assistance to people displaced from their homes because of conflict and disaster. To help deliver services, employees need a strong and reliable enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to pay vendors, manage inventory, apply for housing, enroll children in schools and much more. The nonprofit invested in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and partnered with Avanade for managed services support to ensure it was making the most of this technology on a global scale.

“In a simple way, we need technology to support our staff to do things as easily as possible. The ERP transition is creating a new foundation, a better foundation for the entire organization to operate. A vendor record being active or not is the difference between a family having their rent paid for the month. It’s a critical change to make so that we can continue to provide the best support possible.”

Parker Williams ERP Director, International Rescue Committee

Avanade Managed Services provides ongoing support for and enhancements to Integra – the name the IRC gave its new ERP system. We also offer guidance on the strategic performance of the system, helping the IT team address any issues that arise while scaling the solution globally.

This technology support is critical for nonprofits like the IRC, which face unique challenges such as limited budgets and donor reporting requirements.

With more operational tools, employees at the IRC have more time to focus on what they do best – helping people shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future.

Integra is currently live at the IRC’s offices in the U.S., Europe and Africa. As the rollout continues, the IRC will benefit from:

  • More efficient and transparent operations
  • Capacity support
  • Testing capabilities with an automated test platform
  • Faster application development for all the latest and greatest features
