Avanade Recognizes Pioneering Work in Tackling Sustainability ChallengesLeading Microsoft Solutions Company, Avanade, has honored the premium Swedish car manufacturer Volvo Cars with its “Do What Matters” sustainability award.
Gothenburg—January 26, 2023
Leading Microsoft solutions provider, Avanade, has given Volvo Cars its ‘Do what matters’ award, which recognizes initiatives that leverage technology for sustainability improvements. Volvo Cars received the award for its use of a jointly developed environment impact measurement tool, which the Swedish automotive manufacturer is using across its global operations as part of its mission to be carbon neutral by 2040. The award, which honors companies that are using technology to make a positive impact for the environment, was presented to Volvo Cars at a ceremony on January 19.
Avanade recognized Volvo Cars for its role in developing a Facilities Environmental Sustainability Tool which enables it to gather data from approximately 200 non-manufacturing facilities, 2,500 retailers and its manufacturing facilities. It then provides a report on its carbon footprint, including things like heating systems and wastewater, which can then be used to make decisions and take action to drive down the environmental impact.
Carl Nyman, Avanade Client Executive, Sweden, says, “To do what matters on sustainability, organizations must integrate and translate data from multiple sources into actionable insights, in real time. Our own research tells us that 93 percent of companies are struggling with their sustainability agendas. More than ever, technology is critical to solving the environmental challenges our world faces and Volvo Cars is demonstrating clear leadership in how to do what matters with digital to become climate neutral.”
