It allows all sorts of new things to be done on board, including credit-card processing, personalised service for individual customers and on-flight upgrades to Delta’s popular Economy Comfort class.
This involved partnering with Microsoft, AT&T and Nokia to put in place one of the most advanced mobile in-flight sales systems in the world – a system based on our Avanade Mobile Airline Platform, which combines Microsoft Dynamics for Retail software with our Connected Stores solution.
We also provided 21,000 Delta flight assistants with the latest Nokia Lumia devices to access this platform, connected up through AT&T’s 4G LTE network.
