About the role

As a Data Protection Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of data protection and data governance solutions for Avanade clients. You’ll bring hands-on technical expertise, own project outcomes, and guide clients and junior team members through complex security and compliance initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Lead or co-lead client engagements focused on data protection and data governance.

• Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions (e.g., sensitivity labeling strategies, advanced DLP policies/integrations, Purview DSPM, data lifecycle/retention controls).

• Perform threat mapping and gap analysis across structured, unstructured, cloud, and on-premises data.

• Facilitate client workshops and stakeholder discussions to translate requirements into scalable, secure Microsoft-based solutions.

• Own solution design decisions, configuration, and technical documentation.

• Provide technical mentorship to Analysts and Senior Analysts; lead workstreams or small teams.

• Contribute to estimations, delivery planning, and risk management.

• Support solutioning efforts, proposals, and internal capability development.

• Build awareness and controls for emerging AI and agentic AI security considerations (e.g., Security Copilot).

Job Description:

[MULTIPLE POSITIONS] Avanade Inc. seeks D365 Senior Supply Chain & Manufacturing Functional Consultants in Chicago, IL to be part of Avanade’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team. As part of this team, you will: collect information, analyze requirements, solve business process problems, and provide technical and operational support to Avanade’s clients who are implementing Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 ERP system (D365 F&O); lead the D365 F&O Manufacturing workstream in our clients’ ERP implementations; match business processes to application requirements, transform business requirements into an implementation model and document D365 F&O configurations in an application model; lead the prototyping and configuration of the applicable processes within D365 F&O to ensure that the ERP system works with respect to our clients’ needs; lead workshops with our clients, consultants, and client leaders to analyze and design solutions and handle gaps in D365 F&O detected during prototyping; work with the Avanade ERP technical team to help design, develop, and test custom solutions that have been approved by our clients to address specific gaps within D365 F&O and in third party applications and services; lead the creation or refinement of our clients’ business process hierarchies within their business process models so that functional and non-functional requirements are identified and linked; document settings in D365 F&O and prepare our clients to use their ERP system; and support our clients with the testing, acceptance and deployment of their ERP system into day-to-day operational use. Periodic travel to client sites (domestic and international) is expected up to 80% of the time. Must live within reasonable commuting distance to Chicago, IL.

Compensation at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Avanade provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below. The offered salary range for this specific position in IL is $140,000–$170,000 per year. Any multi-state or general compensation ranges displayed below do not apply to this position.
