Diversity and Global reach

Joining Avanade means working in a place where you are able to do your best work because our environment is built on inclusion. We want each person to feel valued, supported and rewarded. This also means Avanade is a pretty interesting place. Each of us brings something special to the mix and we strive to make that mix work. This means bringing the best people in the world together, regardless of who they are or where they come from, and encouraging them to bring their whole self to work. That is our plan to succeed in our competitive, global marketplace.

  • Our foundational diversity training course for all employees promotes inclusive behavior at Avanade.
  • Through our “Dialogues on Diversity” series and “Unconscious Bias” training program we promote learning and conversation about a variety of diversity-related topics.
  • Avanade is proud to be a global diversity champion of Stonewall, an organization that partners with institutions to create real change for the LGBT community, empowering individuals and companies to understand that different experiences and perspectives will help them flourish.

Employee Networks

At Avanade you have access to a phenomenal variety of employee networks to keep you connected, supported and moving forward. For a start, Avanade is part of the Accenture family, so you have access to Accenture’s vast networks. We also have networks for like-minded people, for mentors, and for promoting equality across our industry.

  • We’ve established Employee Resource Groups to empower our people and foster inclusion and learning. These include groups for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning, and Allies), veterans and women.
  • We have an innovative Allies at Avanade program that aims to invite, educate, and empower employees to identify themselves as allies, speak up on behalf of their co-workers, and support equality efforts at Avanade.
  • We’ve rolled out mentoring networks across all our offices worldwide.
  • We’re continuing our support for Girl Geek Coffees – a network of open groups for women studying IT-related subjects around the world.

Working in the community

Globally we support major programs through fundraising, pro-bono consulting, volunteering and mentoring. We also encourage our people to devote time to causes that resonate with them personally.

Avanade Italy have supported the Fondazione Donna a Milano ONLUS campaign, ”One day we’ll stop cancer in women”. The foundation helps women in Ghana with programs that are focused on the prevention and treatment of uterine cancer.

Avanade has been supporting The Prince’s Trust since 2008, with 24 young people from the Trust taken on as interns in 2013-14. We also offer mentors for students at the University of London and apprenticeships for schools.

South Africa

One of the projects Avanade SA is involved with is supporting the library in a local primary school – including building a library management app to help them look after their books, and giving advice on careers in IT.

We’re industry ambassadors for Girl Geek Coffees, a group for students studying IT, engineering and science – with regular events in our Sydney and Melbourne offices.
