Broader impact, bigger change
Avanade is proud be among leading organizations who are taking a stand for gender equity, both in and outside the workplace.
At a corporate and local level, we strive each day to reaffirm our commitment to developing the careers of women in technology. That includes sponsoring events like Grace Hopper, the largest gathering of women technologists in the world, or celebrating International Women’s Day with more than 70 events globally.
We have also teamed with like-minded corporate partners who are as passionate as we are about strengthening the role of women in the workplace, including Women in Technology International, Anita Borg Institute and Catalyst.
Avanade Italy have supported the Fondazione Donna a Milano ONLUS campaign, ”One day we’ll stop cancer in women”. The foundation helps women in Ghana with programs that are focused on the prevention and treatment of uterine cancer.
Avanade has been supporting The Prince’s Trust since 2008, with 24 young people from the Trust taken on as interns in 2013-14. We also offer mentors for students at the University of London and apprenticeships for schools.
One of the projects Avanade SA is involved with is supporting the library in a local primary school – including building a library management app to help them look after their books, and giving advice on careers in IT.
We’re industry ambassadors for Girl Geek Coffees, a group for students studying IT, engineering and science – with regular events in our Sydney and Melbourne offices.
