Dr Lina Huertas, FIMechE is Chief Technologist for Digital Manufacturing at the Manufacturing Technology Centre, one of the High Value Manufacturing Catapults. Her role focuses on driving the creation of value in the UK through the digitalization of UK industry. This includes shaping the UK national strategy and policy, defining the High Value Manufacturing Catapult strategy and running the MTC strategy on Digital Manufacturing. In recent years, she has formed and led different engineering and technology teams that offer unique capabilities to develop and deliver technology-based solutions for the UK manufacturing sector, including disruptive and innovative demonstrator, frameworks for future skills and business transformation tools. Her experience includes a 15 years’ experience delivering industrial projects that have generated significant business benefits on the back of digital technologies and a PhD in the application of simulation and informatics solutions to support electronics manufacturing. Lina is a Fellow of the IMechE and has a first-class honors degree and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Tom is passionate about manufacturing and staying ahead of the curve on industry trends, techniques and solutions, and over his career has helped hundreds of manufacturers understand and harness the rapidly changing world of technology to become more innovative, improve their operational efficiency, grow revenues, grow market share and increase profitability.
