About the role

As a Data Protection Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of data protection and data governance solutions for Avanade clients. You’ll bring hands-on technical expertise, own project outcomes, and guide clients and junior team members through complex security and compliance initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Lead or co-lead client engagements focused on data protection and data governance.

• Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions (e.g., sensitivity labeling strategies, advanced DLP policies/integrations, Purview DSPM, data lifecycle/retention controls).

• Perform threat mapping and gap analysis across structured, unstructured, cloud, and on-premises data.

• Facilitate client workshops and stakeholder discussions to translate requirements into scalable, secure Microsoft-based solutions.

• Own solution design decisions, configuration, and technical documentation.

• Provide technical mentorship to Analysts and Senior Analysts; lead workstreams or small teams.

• Contribute to estimations, delivery planning, and risk management.

• Support solutioning efforts, proposals, and internal capability development.

• Build awareness and controls for emerging AI and agentic AI security considerations (e.g., Security Copilot).

Role snapshot (SME&C: Small, Medium Enterprises & Channel)
As a Business Development Sales Executive, you’ll own net-new and expansion opportunities across a territory of small and mid-market customers and partner-led accounts. You’ll run a high-velocity pipeline, build repeatable plays, and lead co-sell motions with Microsoft and channel partners—taking pursuits from first outreach through negotiation and close.

What success looks like

• Build and progress a consistent pipeline through disciplined prospecting and partner-sourced lead flow.

• Win Microsoft-powered services deals by running tight discovery, aligning solution teams, and leading pursuit execution.

• Grow relationships through land-and-expand motions and clear account plans with Microsoft and channel partners.

Deal & candidate profile (to help you self-select)
You’ll be a strong fit if you can point to specific wins in net-new logo and can run a disciplined, high-activity motion in partnership with Microsoft and/or channel partners.

• Typical deals: Microsoft-powered consulting/services (discovery → proposal/SOW (Statement of Work) → close).

• Buying complexity: multi-stakeholder (Business + IT) with executive alignment required.

• Your operating cadence: consistent prospecting, clean CRM (Customer Relationship Management System) hygiene, and weekly pipeline inspection.

• Own the end-to-end sales cycle (prospect → discovery → solution shaping → proposal/SOW → negotiation → close) across net-new and expansion opportunities.

• Build and convert a high-velocity pipeline through daily prospecting, outbound campaigns, and partner-sourced lead flow.

• Lead Microsoft co-sell and channel motions: build joint account plans, activate partners, and run partner-led pursuits.

• Run disciplined pursuit management: qualify fast, set a win strategy, mobilize delivery/solution teams, and manage internal approvals through contracting.

• Develop and expand executive relationships: map stakeholders, create advocates, and position Avanade as a long-term partner.

• Drive growth in priority industries (varies by territory), such as Financial Services, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Retail & Consumer Goods, Energy/Resources, and Communications/Media/Technology.

Sales Support supports Avanade's sales teams in successfully and efficiently closing new business and leveraging specific skills depending on the area of focus.

Additionally, this role will work directly with upper management to contribute to developing reports and credentials to support Business Developers and Account Leaders in achieving territorial sales growth targets.

• Contribute to an environment that facilitates sales enablement and fulfillment of proposals efficiently

• Support the yearly account plans process

• Per leadership specifications, modifies processes and procedures to reflect customer and market needs and continuously exceeds customer expectations on time

• Support development and implementation of management decision tools

• Provide regular pipeline reporting and revenue forecasting to inform strategic planning and decisions
