Role Purpose

Responsible for translating our global priorities into executable plans and ensuring successful delivery across the organisation. The role provides leadership, governance and oversight of strategic initiatives, driving alignment between business objectives, investment decisions, operational execution and measurable outcomes. Working closely with senior executives and business leaders, the role ensures that strategic ambitions are converted into sustainable business results.

Role purpose 

The AI Workforce Solution Area Lead exists to grow the Solution Area by building a clear market position, strong Microsoft alignment, credible client propositions and an integrated operating rhythm. 

The role must turn market demand for AI-led workplace transformation into pipeline, revenue, client impact and differentiated capability. It will be the single accountable UKS leader for this Solution Area, ensuring one strategy, not multiple disconnected agendas, drives growth. 

Key accountabilities 

• Own the UKS AI Workforce growth strategy across both direct and indirect channels. 

• Define the Solution Area plan, including priority propositions, target clients,  

• Microsoft alignment, capability priorities, investment choices and growth focus. 

• Act as the primary Avanade UKS interface to Microsoft for the Solution Area, translating Microsoft priorities into practical pipeline and client opportunities. 

• Build AI-led propositions that help clients improve productivity, employee experience, workforce effectiveness, adoption and business value from  

• Microsoft technologies. 

• Integrate Practice and GTM strategies so capability and channel decisions support one coherent Solution Area strategy. 

• Drive pipeline creation, opportunity conversion, revenue growth and market relevance for AI Workforce. 

• Partner with Client Groups, Microsoft, Accenture and Delivery to shape key pursuits and strengthen client outcomes. 

• Ensure the Solution Area has the right capability roadmap, skills strategy and workforce plan, working closely with the Practice Lead. 

• Own strategic capability direction for the Solution Area, including where to build,  buy, borrow or partner. 

• Ensure the delivery model for the Solution Area is commercially viable, repeatable and credible with clients. 

• Own Sold-vs-Delivered CCI integrity for the Solution Area, in partnership with Practice and Delivery. 

• Build the market reputation of Avanade UKS in AI-enabled workplace transformation. 

• Contribute to cross-Solution Area opportunities where AI Workforce is part of broader cloud, data, security, business applications or managed services outcomes. 

• Provide visible senior leadership to the Solution Area community, creating clarity,  confidence and direction through the operating model transition.

• AI Workforce sales and revenue across all channels. 

• Pipeline coverage, conversion, win rate and revenue growth. 

• Microsoft co-sell or partner-sourced sales attached to the Solution Area. 

• Microsoft-aligned targets relevant to AI Workforce, including adoption, usage, seat, consumption or solution-play measures where applicable.

Join Avanade UK’s Software Engineering Practice as a hands-on AI Application Architect, helping design intelligent, agentic, cloud-native application designs. You will apply advanced AI techniques to accelerate every phase of the delivery lifecycle - from analysis and design to build, test, deploy, and operate - driving transformation across complex enterprise legacy portfolios.

This role operates across solution architecture, Agentic platform innovation, and commercial deal shaping, with a focus on building and scaling agentic engineering capabilities across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Role Overview

As part of a growing Software Engineering Practice, you will focus on modern application architecture while pioneering the use of agentic AI in real delivery scenarios.

You will collaborate closely with other Practices on direct deals, leading during solutioning phases as well as during critical delivery phases. Whether modernising legacy systems or building greenfield solutions from scratch, you will apply agentic AI to transform how projects are executed end-to-end.

What you’ll do

• Lead C-Level application modernisation strategy discussions, workshops and executive briefings.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and driving digital transformation initiatives.
• Design and Lead Proof of Value work for application transformation clients.
• Provide SME capabilities on application remediation, technologies and transformation, both infrastructure and software as well as application integration.
• Validate Solution approach for modernisation projects, own deliverability of the technical and functional solution, ensuring correctness and achieve sign off.
• Collaborate with delivery, sales, and partner teams to shape proposals and ensure successful execution.
• Provide technical leadership to delivery teams and mentor solution architects.
• Lead assessments and transformation of legacy environments defining modernisation strategies (refactor, replatform, replace, etc).
• Establish modernisation frameworks and enforce architectural standards across programs

• Apply AI agents across all delivery phases: analysis, design, build, test, deploy, and operations.

• Drive AI adoption cross-practice and cross-region, enabling AI-driven solution roadmaps.

• Develop accelerators, reference architectures, and reusable assets for agentic AI patterns.

• Guide engineering, data, and DevOps teams on AI automation and pipeline integration.

• Travel occasionally for high-value client engagements.
