Can digital technology change the way you buy your groceries?  We think so.  And we will show you how at the National Retail Federation’s Big Show happening in New York City January 17-19th. The Big Show is the retail industry’s flagship event to explore everything about the latest advancements in retail technology.  We are using this event to showcase our vision for the future of grocery shopping – and in many ways, the future of shopping in any retail segment. The Supermarket of the Future exhibition is sure to be one of the premier events at the Big Show.  We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to see what is possible with digital retail technology.

The Supermarket of the Future is a revolutionary shopping environment, built on emerging digital and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies that provide business value and transform the shopping experience.  From smart shelves to interactive food display tables — the technologies create solutions that arm shoppers with the tools and information to make their experience convenient, relevant and personalized. The Supermarket of the Future was developed for Coop Italia, a system of Italy consumers' cooperatives that operates the largest supermarket chain in Italy.   Under the guidance of Carlos Ratti Associates, an Italy-based innovation and design firm that investigates the impact of digital technologies on architecture, planning and design, Avanade worked with Accenture, Microsoft and Intel to develop, deploy and operate the Supermarket of the Future to support Coop’s presence at Expo Milano. Now, we are bringing this experience to the Big Show.

If you want to see first-hand how digital and IoT technologies can create a more informative and convenient shopping experience, then please visit the Supermarket of the Future Exhibition in the Intel Pavilion at NRF’s Big Show – Booth 2543.  Tours are available every 15 minutes of during the conference expo hours.  Also, Gabriele Tubertini, CIO of Coop Italia, will discuss the Supermarket of the Future at the Big Show at 10:15 AM Monday (January 18th) in Big Ideas Room 4.  Stella Goulet, Avanade’s CMO, will interview Gabriele and address unique perspectives of the Supermarket of the Future including how digital and IoT can create a more human shopping environment similar to the European markets of the past.
