Avanade appoints Mac Ghani to lead Australia business

15-year Avanade veteran returns to Australia with extensive experience in helping organisations drive digital transformation initiatives through the Microsoft ecosystem.

Australia - August 16, 2018

Avanade, the leading digital innovator on the Microsoft ecosystem, announced today that it has appointed Mahmood Ghani, also known as Mac Ghani, as Executive - General Manager, Australia. Based in Sydney, Mac will be responsible for accelerating the growth of Avanade’s business in Australia and leading a team of more than 300 professionals based in five offices: Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Prior to the appointment, Mac served as General Manager for Avanade’s business in Central Canada. In this position, Mac and his team led the development of Avanade’s business in the territory to double-digit growth. In addition to his proven capability in building business momentum, Mac brings with him an expansive portfolio accumulated from his experience working with clients in the public sector, financial services and oil and gas industries.

Mac first joined Avanade in 2004 as a Capability Lead at the Canberra office, before moving to Avanade’s Melbourne office where he focused on clients which included some of Australia’s largest banks. In his role as Avanade Australia’s Chief Technology Officer, Mac focused on the application of innovative solutions and services on the Microsoft ecosystem, combined with bold, fresh thinking, to help Avanade’s clients realise business results. Mac subsequently took on the position of Malaysia Country Manager, where he demonstrated his capabilities in adapting quickly to the diversity of cultures and embracing an entrepreneurial mindset to drive the growth of Avanade’s business and its team in the country.

Mac graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Master’s in Business and Technology.
