The security landscape was already evolving in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic affected every industry, organization and person. Many businesses are now convinced that Microsoft security solutions will play a vital role in their digital transformation roadmap. But they aren’t always sure how to implement them or how to pick the right partner.

The most recent recognition occurred earlier in July when we earned a nomination to join the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA), an  invitation-only community of Microsoft managed security service providers and independent software vendors.

Security solutions centered around Microsoft
I’m particularly proud of the intellectual property our team has developed, which extends the security capabilities of Microsoft, the world leader in cybersecurity. Most recently, we unveiled a set of security solutions that are centered around Microsoft Azure Sentinel, Microsoft’s scalable, cloud-native, security information event management and security orchestration automated response solution.

Customized for each client, our security services package can include a set of workshops, pilots and an engagement based on our unique mix of business understanding in the security domain, deep Microsoft technology experience and our understanding of the client’s environment. Our Managed Security Service brings top security talent, innovative technologies and security-as-a-service operating models that help clients rapidly achieve operational resilience with scalable security and compliance operations.

The invitation to join the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association was the latest recognition for Avanade Security. Earlier in 2020, we were named the Microsoft Security 20/20 award winner in the Security Advisory category. Additionally, we were one of the inaugural group of partners that earned gold level status for the new Microsoft security competency last September “for partners with the knowledge and capabilities to deliver security-related services on Azure and Microsoft 365 and help customers protect identities, data, apps, and endpoints from cyber threats.”

We encourage our people to keep up-to-date on the latest Microsoft technologies. At last count, Avanade has attained more AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer Associate) and MS-500 (Security Administrator Associate) certifications – the two Microsoft security-specific certs – than any other partner. It’s been said that “each one of those certifications reflects hours, days or weeks of someone’s investment in their learning, growth and development, and reflects their personal – and Avanade’s – acquisition and application of the latest in-demand tech and skills.”
