The big news this year at Inspire 2018: Full speed ahead!

In years past, the big news out of the Microsoft Inspire Conference has been about major restructurings or product launches. This year was different. Last week, the big news out of Inspire was that there was no need for big news: The changes that Microsoft announced in recent years, including last year’s reorganization, have proven to be highly effective at aligning its sales resources to customers and delivering the right solutions to solve customers’ issues.
That reorganization has also brought Microsoft’s field closer to technology partners like Avanade, allowing us to get our industry solutions in front of the customer faster. The clear message at Inspire was that the Microsoft ship isn’t just on course but is cruising full speed ahead. If you haven’t yet come aboard, now is certainly the time to do so.
I’m extremely pleased to report that for the 11th year in a row and the 14th year in all, Avanade and Accenture have been named the Microsoft Alliance SI Partner of the Year. We won that top honor, from among thousands of Microsoft partners, in recognition of our distinguished levels of business excellence and client satisfaction.
All about the business benefit
At Inspire, Microsoft committed to investments that should serve you well as you launch or continue your journey of digital transformation. Microsoft has rededicated itself to ensuring its products and services deliver business benefits as well as technology benefits. It is creating platforms on which partners like Avanade can build better industry-specific solutions that enable our clients to boost revenues, cut costs and gain competitive advantage.
For example, Carlsberg Group, the world’s fourth-largest brewery, was highlighted on the Inspire stage for a digital transformation that touches virtually every internal and external interaction the company has: with consumers, with restaurants and bars, and with employees. Carlsberg Group is using artificial intelligence to help brew the perfect beer and it’s developing the Connected Bar that makes ordering faster and more accurate, so bartender and customer have time for a more human interaction that builds customer loyalty.
The big picture
Microsoft also inspired me with a discussion of the greater integration of gaming and other consumer-oriented technologies into enterprise solutions. It’s part of the broader vision of giving people a more consistent experience throughout their day, from home to job and everywhere in between.
For instance, as smart homes become even smarter, there will be more ways they can help their owners that go far beyond ordering milk and monitoring the security system. And your trip to a gas station might never resemble a Formula One pit stop, but it will be far faster and more hassle-free when your phone handles everything for you but the gasoline. It’s one example of how consumers are benefitting from Microsoft’s full embrace of all possible device endpoints under CEO Satya Nadella.
In the weeks and months ahead, you can be sure to get the most of Microsoft’s innovations through your partnership with Avanade. We are aligning more closely with Microsoft’s strategies and goals, holding regular meetings between our two companies and delivering the best and newest that Microsoft has to offer as only the 2018 Alliance Partner of the Year can.
