My delivery management career: leadership in Brazil

I’ve been with Avanade for just over a year now, and already I can tell you that Avanade is different.
We have a lot of opportunities to grow here, and a focus on people development backed up by a real concern for people. These are some of the reasons why I chose Avanade.
Today, I am the delivery lead for Avanade Brazil, but I started 13 years ago with Accenture, always working on the delivery side of the table. My delivery career has moved from mobilization to systems integration projects to leadership in the delivery center organization.
In my role, I spend a lot of time coaching people and managing quality assurance reviews on projects to guarantee that we have the right processes in place and that we are poised for success.
Over the years, I have found that the secret to keeping customers happy is to remain close to the customer and to always be on their side. This means spending a lot of time developing relationships, listening, and understanding both issues and opportunities.
When I’m asked for my best career advice, I tell people to keep lines of communication open with your manager. Let him or her know when you face a challenge or an issue, or even if you are unsatisfied with your role. Every time I have done this, I spoke with my leadership team, and they have always listened.
