DNV GL has been providing risk management, assurance and certification services for clients in multiple industries — including maritime, renewable energy and oil and gas — for nearly 150 years. With a mission to safeguard life, property and the environment, the company offers comprehensive data management services to its clients in more than 100 countries. However, DNV GL previously operated on an analog platform that held client datasets in various databases and silos that couldn’t be easily integrated or accessed for business insights. To unlock the full value of its client data, the company wanted to create an open industry platform that can offer new services and solutions.

Solution
DNV GL partnered with Avanade to build Veracity, its new secure platform for digital innovation and industry collaboration. Using a three-fold approach, Veracity offers a variety of solutions to both DNV GL’s clients and its development partners:
- A marketplace offering industry data and data-driven products
- Secure data storage and sharing services
- A toolbox to encourage and support developers wanting to provide solutions on the Veracity platform
Avanade was instrumental in developing Veracity’s cloud architecture on Microsoft Azure, which will allow DNV GL to scale the solution as it grows. Additionally, the platform is hosted on the Avanade Modern Analytics Platform (AMAP), eliminating the need for the company to host the solution itself.

With Veracity, DNV GL aims to deliver bottom line efficiencies and increased data insights for its clients, as well as top line revenue opportunities for the company itself.
