Telenor wanted to offer hosted messaging services for mail, calendar and task management being delivered to end customers in the SMB market. A Microsoft Exchange based solution using Hosted Exchange needed to be established and integrated with the existing infrastructure.
Avanade was engaged to team up with Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) on the project. We designed a platform and architecture where Telenor can offer products and solutions to their customers. The project created a solution that offers Microsoft Hosted Exchange to customer. This solution was integrated into Telenor’s existing infrastructure and back-end systems. A self-care portal was created for users’ administration of their Hosted Exchange service.
The core functionality of the solution was developed using Microsoft Connected Services Framework (CSF). The graphical user interface for end customers was implemented as a web part in ASP.NET for integration into a custom built self-care portal based on .NET 2.0. Back-end integration is based on custom developed components for legacy systems and a BizTalk solution for the billing and compliance component. Mail services are based on Microsoft Exchange Hosted Edition.
