From its beginnings, Microsoft has been a partner company, focusing on delivering great technology while leveraging other companies around the world to help it to sell, implement and service clients. That approach has resulted in a rich partner ecosystem, which has created even greater innovation, value and insight than Microsoft could have done alone.

When Microsoft and Accenture started Avanade in 2000, the goal was to create a joint venture that could lead the industry in helping our clients realize results on the Microsoft platform.

Today, I am excited and honored that prominent market research company International Data Corporation (IDC) has recognized Avanade and Accenture together as a leader for worldwide Microsoft enterprise application implementation services based on current capabilities and future strategies.

The report, "IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Microsoft Enterprise Applications Implementation Services Ecosystem," (doc #US40150215, December 2015) is the industry's first analyst positing  of its kind on the Microsoft ecosystem. Avanade and Accenture were evaluated as a single entity for this report because our strategies, including go-to-market, and capabilities for Microsoft services are tightly integrated.

Avanade and Accenture rated highly based on a number of factors, including very favorable survey feedback from clients and our combined ability to help clients achieve desired business outcomes.

This is excellent validation and a key point of differentiation of our business strategy, and reflect the hard work and dedication of our professionals around the world. Every single day, we use the power of Microsoft technology to help our clients transform their businesses to compete and grow in a digital world. From helping Rio Tinto reinvent its entire IT infrastructure to an “everything-as-a-service” approach to transforming the customer experience for Husqvarna to helping the National Health Service (NHS) in England and Scotland to embrace a digital workplace. Accenture has even reimagined our own digital workplace with the help of Avanade and Microsoft Office 365.

One example is our recent partnership between Avanade, Accenture, Microsoft and Intel to deliver the “Supermarket of the Future” for Coop Italia, which is being highlighted this week at the National Retail Federation (NRF) event in New York.
